USED TIRE JAPAN supplies Japanese used passenger car tires — PCR tires, or used car tyres as they are called in most of our markets — in full container loads to importers, wholesalers and tire shops worldwide.

Japanese used tires are valued because of the road conditions they come from: well-paved highways, strict speed limits and a shaken (vehicle inspection) system that pushes drivers to replace tires long before the carcass is worn out. That is why a used passenger car tire from Japan usually still has plenty of usable tread left.

We mainly supply 12 to 18 inch used passenger car tires in both summer and winter tread patterns. Sizes marked (main) are the ones we can secure in volume on a regular basis.

Brands and condition

Our stock comes from tire shops and dismantling yards across Japan, so the brand mix is simply whatever is fitted on Japanese cars — Bridgestone, Yokohama, Toyo, Dunlop, Falken, Goodyear, Michelin and Continental — along with other brands sold in the Japanese market.

We work only with partner yards that run their own inspection before tires are packed. Tell us the minimum tread depth, the summer / winter pattern ratio and the sizes you sell most, and we will confirm what our yards can actually gather before you commit to a booking. We would rather tell you a size is short this month than load something you cannot sell.

Container loading for PCR tires

Used passenger car tyres are loaded doubled or tripled — what buyers usually call 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 — so that a 40ft container carries the maximum number of pieces.

40ft container, 12–17 inch PCR only: approximately 3,500 pieces
Mixed with light truck tires: around 2,000–2,200 PCR pieces plus 500–550 LT pieces
20ft container: available for a first trial order

We can also load PCR together with LT tires in one container. Mixing PCR with TBR truck tires is not always possible, so please ask before you plan a mixed booking.

We trade on CIF terms only, and every shipment is insured by us. Freight is normally prepaid in Japan, but it can be arranged as collect at your port if that suits your bank better. We ship from all major Japanese ports — Ishikari, Tomakomai, Hachinohe, Akita, Sendai, Niigata, Kashiwazaki, Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Kobe and Moji. Tell us your destination port and we will quote CIF to it.

Payment

Most buyers pay by T/T (telegraphic transfer, bank to bank). Wise is also accepted, and buyers on a yearly contract can settle by L/C at sight.

How many used passenger car tires fit in a 40ft container?

Loading 12 to 17 inch PCR tires as 2-in-1 or 3-in-1, a 40ft container holds roughly 3,500 pieces. If you mix in light truck tires the count changes to about 2,000–2,200 PCR plus 500–550 LT pieces.

Can I order a mix of sizes in one container?

Yes. Send us the sizes and the rough share of each that you want, and we will build the load around what our yards can gather that month. We will tell you in advance if a size cannot be filled.

Do you supply winter tires?

Yes. Japan is a large winter tire market, so studless winter tyres are available alongside summer patterns. Tell us the ratio you want.

Can I start with a small trial order?

Yes. We accept a 20ft container for an initial test order so that you can check the quality before moving to 40ft containers.

Which countries do you export used passenger car tires to?

We ship worldwide, with regular shipments to the USA, Central and South America, Central and South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Can I visit your yard in Japan?
